Life Lately

It’s been a busy few weeks at work with quiet evenings relaxing at home with my husband. We’ll have teatime at home with some pastries to pair. Lately, we’ve been a fan of lady finger cookies.

I’ve recently started on a new embroidery project and treated myself to some beautiful linen from Latvia. Embroidery is kind of like welding to me. It’s slow, methodic, and zen like without requiring much thought.

On our weekends, we’ve been sleeping in a bit, but when my husband makes breakfast, it’s always a special treat. He found a recipe recently with instructions on how to make vegetarian bacon using shiitake mushrooms. Quite tasty!

Given it’s summertime in the city, we’ve been enjoying some afternoon activities outdoors as well. We met up with some friends and headed to the park for a free screening of Mrs. Doubtfire.

Ironically, we layered on our thermals and winter gear since it always gets chilly when the fog rolls in. We equipped ourselves with some hot toddy, tea, and lady finger cookies along with all the blankets and mini cups we brought back from our travels in Vietnam.

I’m excited with all the things we’re making at work, but also look forward to every evening coming home with my husband. It’s my favorite part of every day.
