spring: inspiration by the seasons
After a long winter with heavy rains, I’m looking forward to spring. Here are some posts for inspiration to get into the spring mood. It’s a good time to start scouting out places to see the fresh blooms, whether along a scenic drive or manicured garden. Plan a spring time picnic overlooking a view or plan out your home garden. Look to your local museums for exhibits that inspire you.
My husband and a few of our friends planned a little birthday visit to Filoli Gardens over the weekend. It was a sweet surprise, with good company, pastries, tea.
Here are a few of my recent finds and links to get you in the mood for spring. Enjoy!
My mother and I wandered the fields of rolling green in search of spring wildflowers in bloom. So as winter fades and spring brings with it new beginnings, I skip among the wildflowers, feeling free and lighter than air.
In search of inspiration, my husband and I visited the Monet exhibit at the de Young Museum a few weekends ago. A bit worn out these days, looking at Monet’s paintings gave me a sense of peace and wonder as I contemplated his complexity of pastel colors and saw the world through his lens.
When I was little, I never realized the importance of taking a break. But I’ve found that sometimes to go fast, you have to go slow. So my husband and I took two days off on top of the weekend to do just that (and to celebrate my birthday).
Since I was little, I've always wanted to have a private little tea party, surrounded by rolling hills, good friends, and away from the crowds. So for my birthday, we decided to celebrate early with picnic and high tea on Mt. Tam.
We woke up before six to drive down to Woodland and see the almond blossoms. Under the blossoming orchards, it looked like snow.
