Wildflower Picnics with Friends

There’s a special kind of feeling when you can be at ease in a group of friends, exploring windy roads without much of a plan, in search of the super bloom. Even if we didn’t find any, we’d still be content, simply enjoying each other’s company along the journey together.

With our friends, Alex & Aneesha, we took a last minute trip with the guys in one car and the ladies in the other. While catching up on life and pondering the future, we came across these golden hills, covered in wildflowers. We pulled over on the side of the road and setup our little picnic in the back of our truck. Not knowing what terrain we’d find, we prepared picnic blankets, cloth napkins, collapsible tables, and picnic treats complete with mini cups of tea for four.

Around this time, I was living the turbulent ups and downs in life. My husband, Irving came up with this mini trip and as usual, I’m continually touched by his thoughtfulness even though we’ve been together for 7+ years now and married for five. These experiences together have a way of lifting up the soul, especially when I need it the most.

Yoshi had a little fun as well, along with Lego (our friends’ dog). With lots to smell and see, I’d like to think they liked it too. I caught Yoshi trying to sniff all the different flower varieties in the field.

Here’s to my husband, good friends, and sweet memories to keep us going.
