Portraits at the Bethesda Terrace Arcade

During our trip to New York, we came across the Bethesda Terrace Arcade in Central Park and loved the series of arches and colorful tiles along the halls. We stopped to admire the space and took advantage of the diffuse lighting taking portraits of each other.

In the center, a man was playing cello, oblivious to the streams of people passing through. The music echoed along the walls of the arcade, filling the space with a companionable calm.

We shuffled onwards as the musicians changed, out into the bright afternoon in search of a view, a bench, and some pastries to enjoy together.
