Escape to Lombok

We decided to get away from the crowds, to an even more remote location that came highly recommended by a friend. From Bali, we took a twenty minute flight to Lombok where we stayed in a bungalow along a private beach. From our bed facing the ocean, we watched the glow of sunrise and sunset every day.

We’d wake up everyday, exploring the nearby beach and snorkeling in the shallow, clear waters out to sea. Our favorite experience was renting a boat to snorkel further out around the several mini islands where the water was so clear, you could see the colorful fish and coral from the surface. Underwater, we swam with hundreds of fish of all colors and shapes among vibrant chains of pink coral teeming with undisturbed life. Given the remoteness, the fish weren’t afraid of us. Rather, they’d curiously swim up to us to stare.

We returned every afternoon for napping and snacks before sunset walks on the beach, then onto dinner.

I was hope we come back here someday.
