For the first time, I went out in my pajamas without makeup and had early morning breakfast under the sun with my husband and this puppy. It was a spontaneous, whimsical kind of morning and so perfectly out of the ordinary that it made up for the challenging past few days.
Whenever I’m up extra early in the morning, it feels special somehow. They’re moments of mine where I feel present and completely at peace. I bask under the sun, in a short reprieve until I’m ready to rejoin society as the silence of the city turns into a hum and builds into a symphony of sounds, of life out and about. They’re memories that I’d put away in a locket to relive later, like a pocket full of sunshine when I need it and a nostalgia that never fails to bring a smile to my face.
Somehow, it’s often the simple things that make the happiest mini moments of mine.
