On a Brisk Saturday Afternoon

It’s been raining here for several days, but it finally cleared up on Saturday. When I’m in the mood for recharging, I like to create. I finally finished the highlights and final layers to my blueberry painting:

I also like to get away from technology for a bit and get some fresh air. We went for a long 6-7 mile walk around the neighborhood and found some new areas we’ve never walked through before. When I’m weary, I like to find something to wonder at.

I also ended up finding my new favorite bookstore!

Along the way, we picked up a cup of my favorite coffee from Sightglass. There’s something about their coffee that never leaves me jittery. Love their coffee.

We returned home sometime late in the afternoon for tea. I love having tea and snacks. Ever since a family friend took me to high tea when I was 6, tea time has been one of my favorite things to do.

Bundled up in blankets, I spent the rest of the afternoon painting and reading. I read non-fiction and literature on occasion when I’m looking for deep contemplation, but am a huge fan of sci-fi and fantasy when I’m looking to unwind or get inspired. They take you into a frame of mind where your imagination runs free.

By the time we were hungry, we took our leftover soup and made some very creative looking wontons by hand for dinner. All in all, a pretty good day :).
