Even though this is technically dim sum, I steamed a few of these mini piggy custard buns for dessert. I’ve been looking for them for a while and they happened to be in-stock at the Ranch 99 Market.
I first saw these in an advertisement poster at Ranch 99 and asked someone who was working there where I might find them. The old lady just laughed at me saying “child, it’s just a commercial.” But, you CAN find them in the freezer aisle next to all the other mantou occasionally.
They’re easy to steam and already have parchment paper attached to bottom. The custard inside reminds me of the dimsum I ate growing up :).
